Typical Village Life? Hmmm....

Ive just got back from my first attempt at the art of campanology and all I can say is that they can keep their bellringing! My hands hurt and my back is breaking, The MIL (man I love) is making soothing noises and giving me the 'it was your first time, itll get better' speech - I cast him a glare and he has scurried away to the kitchen to make me a cuppa, was that a smile on his face though?
We recently moved to a small picturesque village in the middle of the country and are still finding our 'rural feet' - yep we have new wellies, ok mine are blue and green spotted from Next but they do the job - just with more style, MIL has invested in a wax jacket and jaunty cap which, quite frankly makes him look ridiculous but he wont be told, he did buy a walking cane for 'when we go for long, proper walks' but since the incident, (trying to get his new wellies on and leaning on said cane for support ended in 3 stitches and said cane being thrown up the wall!) it has been propped up by the front door and glared at like a naughty child. The peace and serenity are everything we hoped for and more, we have a babbling brook, undulating fields, church and pub, and luckily the villagers are friendly and welcoming, which is why I was invited to be part of the Monday night bellringers, a meet and greet to music you might call it, meet and rip my arms out of the socket more like! And a strange bunch too, but Ill tell you more tomorrow, gonna go get my arms and back massaged by MIL - and if he as much as smiles slightly his cane will inflict more damage!!! Night
